1. Who we are

This website, rlgc.ae, is operated by RegLex Global Consulting L.L.C-FZ ("RegLex", "we", "us"), licensed by the Meydan Free Zone, Dubai under licence number 2538017.01, with offices at Meydan Grandstand, 6th floor, Meydan Road, Nad Al Sheba, Dubai, UAE.

This policy explains what personal data we collect through this website, why we use it, who we share it with and the choices you have. We process personal data in line with the UAE Personal Data Protection Law (Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021) and other laws that apply to us.

If you become a client, our engagement letter and client privacy notice also apply to the personal data we handle in delivering our services.

2. What we collect

Information you give us

  • • Enquiries: your name, email address, company, the service you are interested in and your message, when you use the contact form.
  • • Smart Insights: the questions you type into our compliance assistant. If you choose to "Send to an advisor", we also receive your name, company, email address, phone number (if given) and your recent conversation with the assistant.
  • • Newsletter: your email address, if you subscribe to our updates.
  • • Direct contact: anything you send us by email or phone.

Information collected automatically

When you visit the site, our hosting provider and the services that deliver parts of the page (such as fonts) receive technical information that every browser sends, such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested. We do not use analytics or advertising tools to track you. See our Cookie Policy for the small amount of information stored in your browser.

Please do not share confidential information about your customers, or sensitive personal data, through the website forms or Smart Insights.

3. How we use it

  • • To respond to your enquiry and arrange a consultation.
  • • To answer your questions through Smart Insights and, if you ask us to, have an advisor follow up.
  • • To send you regulatory updates you have subscribed to.
  • • To decide whether we can act for you, including the conflict checks and customer due diligence we must carry out before taking on a client.
  • • To keep the website secure and working properly.
  • • To comply with our legal and regulatory obligations.

We rely on your consent (for example when you submit a form or subscribe), on the need to take steps you have asked for before entering into an engagement, and on our legal obligations. You can withdraw your consent at any time; this does not affect anything we did before you withdrew it.

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for automated decision-making that has legal or similarly significant effects on you.

4. Who we share it with

We share personal data only where needed, with:

  • • FormSubmit: which delivers messages from our contact form and Smart Insights to our inbox.
  • • Hostinger: which hosts this website and provides our newsletter service (Hostinger Reach).
  • • Google Fonts: which delivers the fonts used on the site and receives your IP address when the page loads.
  • • Our professional advisers: such as lawyers, auditors and insurers, where necessary.
  • • Regulators, the Financial Intelligence Unit, law enforcement and other authorities: where the law requires or permits it.

As an AML/CFT practice, we may be legally required to report information to the authorities and, in some cases, prohibited by law from telling you that we have done so.

Questions you ask Smart Insights are sent to our AI provider, Anthropic, to generate an answer. They are not used to train its models.

5. International transfers

Some of these service providers store or process data outside the UAE. Where this happens, we take steps to make sure your personal data is protected to the standard required by UAE law, for example through contractual safeguards.

6. How long we keep it

  • • Enquiries that do not lead to an engagement: up to 24 months, then deleted.
  • • Newsletter subscriptions: until you unsubscribe.
  • • Smart Insights conversations stored in your browser: until you press "Clear" or clear your browser storage. Conversations sent to an advisor are treated as enquiries.
  • • If you become a client: in line with our engagement terms and legal record-keeping requirements. Under UAE AML/CFT law, these are generally at least five years after the relationship ends.

7. Your rights

Subject to the conditions and exceptions in the law, you have the right to:

  • • be informed about how we process your personal data;
  • • access a copy of your personal data;
  • • have inaccurate data corrected;
  • • have your data erased, or its processing restricted or stopped;
  • • receive your data in a structured, commonly used format and have it transferred;
  • • object to processing, including for direct marketing; and
  • • withdraw your consent at any time.

To use any of these rights, email admin@rlgc.ae. We may need to verify your identity, and some rights are limited where we must keep data to meet a legal obligation. You can unsubscribe from our newsletter at any time using the link in each email. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to the UAE Data Office.

If you are located outside the UAE and another data protection law applies to you (for example the EU or UK GDPR), we will respect the rights that law gives you.

8. Security

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), restricted access and reputable service providers. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, so please avoid sending highly sensitive information through website forms.

9. Children

This website is intended for businesses and professionals. It is not directed at anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date above shows when it last changed. Significant changes will be highlighted on this page.
